Behind the Innovation: Turning TaylorMade’s Relentless Pursuit of Speed Into a Cinematic Documentary
TaylorMade has always pushed the limits of innovation, but their latest endeavor wasn’t just about a new club—it was about honoring a 46-year legacy of speed. To mark the launch of the Qi4D driver, we traded the expected commercial for “Finding Fast,” a 17-minute brand film that pulls back the curtain on TaylorMade's relentless pursuit of excellence.
It was important for TaylorMade to give a real inside look at their brand. So instead of your typical product documentary, we brought to life a vulnerable untold story of how the world’s most iconic golf brand reclaimed its position as the builder of the fastest, most fittable drivers in the game. The film is an unprecedented look at Team TaylorMade, featuring legends like Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Nelly Korda, Collin Morikawa, Tiger Woods, and Tommy Fleetwood. Bringing these athletes together with TaylorMade CEO David Abeles and his top engineers, we provided a raw look at a high-stakes testing process. From secretive engineering bays to global field tests with influencers like Grant Horvat, what is front and center is TaylorMade’s philosophy — their products have to meet the demands of the best players in the world.
Produced by FIN Studios and directed by Travis Hanour, the film is a high-craft piece of storytelling designed to resonate with golf purists and casual sports fans alike. To mirror the technical intensity of the Qi4D—which focuses on the "four dimensions" of speed: face, aerodynamics, shaft dynamic, and fitting—we paired a moody color grade with a chanting string chorus, building a sense of gravity around every meticulous measurement and swing.
Leaning into long-form content was fueled by media behavior studies. Data confirmed that 70% of core golfers use social media to discover equipment, with TaylorMade’s highest engagement consistently coming from in-depth video formats. By delivering a 17-minute cinematic experience, we tapped into the cravings of a captive audience, using our coveted time with these legendary pros to prove that when it comes to speed, the journey is just as compelling as the result.
Through "Finding Fast," we’ve shifted the narrative from a simple product launch to a global sporting event, making one thing clear: the pursuit of perfection is relentless.
