Zambezi Takes Home Four Clio Sports Awards
This year, Zambezi is celebrating four Clio Sports wins, taking home one Bronze Clio for Under Armour's "Armour Up" and three Silver Clios for ESPN x State Farm's “Inner Baller.” Each campaign highlights women in sports and celebrates the success of prominent athletes, showcasing Zambezi's dedication to empowering female voices in the athletic arena. Here’s a closer look at each.
An Original Song Women’s World Cup
To inspire women athletes on the biggest sports stage of the year, the Women's World Cup, we needed to speak their language and exude authenticity. This fierce competition inspired "Armour Up," an entirely original track and music video in the form of a rap battle featuring U.S. footballer Kelley O’Hara and England’s Alex Greenwood.
Recognized in the Film Craft, Music, category, the music video pairs the athletes with two female artists—one from the United States and one from England—trading lyrics as each rep their athlete and country, unapologetically showcasing their energy and attitude.
Caitlin Clark and Rising WNBA Stars
“Inner Baller” for ESPN and client State Farm, in partnership with ESPN Creative Works, features Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cordoso, and Kiki Rice as they prepare to lead their teams to national championships, and documents the pivotal roles they play in women’s basketball.
Produced by our production division, FIN Studios, the series of films were recognized in the Branded Entertainment / Content medium in the Partnerships & Sponsorships and Athlete Storytelling categories, and the film starring Clark also picked up a Clio on its own.
